Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Who can apply for a subsidy?
The subsidy is available to all residents of Flevoland who live in a home. This applies to both homeowners and tenants (with written permission from the landlord).
How much subsidy can I get?
You will be reimbursed for 25% of your eligible costs. The minimum amount is €750 and the maximum is €1,250 per application. If your calculated subsidy is less than €750, unfortunately, no payment will be made.
Can I install the battery myself?
Yes and no. You can install plug-and-play batteries yourself (such as some Marstek or Anker models). Permanent systems in the meter box must be installed by a certified installer to qualify for the subsidy.
When can I apply for a subsidy?
You can apply either before installation (with a quote and proof of deposit) or after installation (with an invoice). Note: Installation or deposit payment must not have taken place before January 1, 2026.
Can I combine this with a VAT refund?
Yes, that's possible. The subsidy is calculated on the amount excluding VAT. The VAT refund (or the 0% rate) is separate from this and represents an additional financial benefit.
What do I need to submit with an application?
  • A completed application form.
  • Cadastral extract (owner) or landlord's permission (tenant).
  • Proof of solar panels (energy bill with return or proof of purchase).
  • Quote + proof of deposit OR Invoice + proof of payment for the battery.
How fast is the approval?
The decision will be made within 13 weeks of receipt of a complete application. Once approved, the amount will be paid within one month.
