BYD Battery-Box Premium LVS 12.0 (48V Low Voltage Battery)
The BYD Battery-Box Premium LVS 12.0 delivers 12 kWh of usable storage capacity right out of the box via three stacked LFP battery modules at 51.2 V nominal. The system includes a PDU (Power Distribution Unit), the Base and the integrated BMU (Battery Management Unit). Thanks to the patented internal plug system, all three modules are stacked without additional wiring — further expandable to 24 kWh per tower or up to 256 kWh in parallel configuration. The exceptionally high continuous discharge current of 195 A makes this system particularly suited to demanding emergency backup and off-grid applications. Compatible with leading single-phase and three-phase inverters from GoodWe, Solis, Victron Energy and SMA.

Scalable from 12 kWh to 256 kWh
The LVS series is designed for maximum flexibility. The LVS 12.0 starts with 3 modules and can easily be expanded — up to 6 modules (24 kWh) per tower, with multiple towers in parallel for larger installations up to 256 kWh. The system supports on-grid self-consumption optimisation, on-grid with backup function, and full off-grid operation. Communication is via CAN or RS485. Operating temperature: −10 °C to +50 °C (charge derating applies between −10 °C and +5 °C).
Not included: The BYD DC connection set for the LVS PDU (35–50 mm² connector set) — consisting of DC connectors, metal terminals, rubber cores, O-rings, claws and caps — and the battery cables to the inverter (2 × 35/50 mm² with M8 cable lugs, approx. 2 m) must be ordered separately.

How far can I expand this system?
The LVS series is highly scalable. Starting from the LVS 12.0 (3 modules):
- Up to 6 modules (24 kWh) per tower — simply add modules without extra wiring.
- Up to 64 modules (256 kWh) by connecting multiple towers in parallel.
Each additional module increases both capacity and maximum discharge current, allowing the system to grow with your energy needs.
Does this battery help avoid feed-in costs?
Yes. By storing surplus solar energy in the LVS 12.0 and consuming it yourself later, you significantly increase your self-consumption rate, reducing feed-in to the grid and associated costs. Combined with a compatible inverter, the system also supports time-of-use (TOU) scheduling for maximum savings on your energy bill.
