Dyness Stack 280 Base & Cover Kit C
The Dyness Stack 280 Base & Cover Extension Kit C (Package C) is the required expansion set for the STACK280 battery system when more than 8 battery modules are installed. From 9 modules onwards, batteries must be distributed across two columns. The kit includes an ExpansionBase and an Expansion Cover for the second column, together with all necessary series and communication cables to correctly connect both columns. The Expansion Cover is exclusively compatible with the expansion-labelled Base. During installation, the standard Base of the first column must be converted into an ExpansionBase.

Technical notes for installers
The Extension Kit C is suitable for indoor use only (IP20). When installing more than 8 modules, the standard Base of the main column must be converted into an ExpansionBase: the original panel, internal series lines and communication sockets are removed and an expansion label is applied. The ExpansionBase of the second column is anchored with M12×100 expansion bolts. Series power cables and communication lines are routed through the side cover and grooves between both columns. The negative connector of the series cable connects to the Base of the main column; the positive connector to the Base of the expansion column. Battery modules are stacked on the new Base and secured with four M5×30 screws. The Expansion Cover is placed on top of the expansion column as the final closure and must only be used with an expansion-labelled Base.

The Dyness Stack 280 BDU & Base (Package A) and battery modules (Package B) are not included and are sold separately.
When is the Extension Kit C required?
The Extension Kit C is required when more than 8 Stack 280 battery modules are installed. A single column is limited to a maximum of 8 modules (total height ±2208 mm with BDU). For 9 to 15 modules, batteries must be distributed across two columns. The kit provides the necessary ExpansionBase and Expansion Cover for the second column, as well as all series and communication cables to correctly connect both clusters. The maximum system size is 15 modules in series per cluster, with up to 12 clusters in parallel.
What are the installation requirements for the Extension Kit C?
Installation must be carried out by certified electricians in accordance with national standards (e.g. BS 7671, IEC 60364). The standard Base of the main column must be converted into an ExpansionBase before installing the second column. The ExpansionBase of the second column is anchored with M12×100 expansion bolts. Series power cables and communication lines are routed through the side cover and grooves between both columns. The Expansion Cover is placed on top of the expansion column as the final closure and must only be used with an expansion-labelled Base. Minimum clearance above each cluster: 450 mm. If installing on an upper floor, a professional assessment of the floor's load-bearing capacity is required.
