The BYD Battery-Box Premium LVS PDU (Power Distribution Unit) forms the brain and foundation of your Low Voltage (48V) energy storage system. This unit is required to control and protect the LVS battery modules. The PDU manages power distribution with an impressive continuous output of 250A and ensures communication with your inverter. This set contains the PDU (Top cover with electronics) and the Base, essential for every new LVS tower.

Technical Functionality & Installation
The LVS PDU is designed for maximum flexibility in 48V systems. Whether you are building an off-grid system with Victron or a grid-tied system with SMA or SolarEdge, this Control Unit manages operations. The complete set (PDU + Base) weighs 19kg and is placed below and on top of the battery modules respectively. Thanks to the internal plug connection technology, no external cables are needed between the battery modules and the PDU, minimizing installation errors and increasing safety.

What is included in the PDU package?
The delivery of the BYD LVS PDU includes the essential components to start a tower:

Which inverters are compatible with the LVS PDU?
The LVS series is a 48V (Low Voltage) system and is specifically compatible with leading 1-phase and 3-phase inverters, including:

How many modules can I connect to one PDU?
On one PDU + Base, you can stack a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 6 LVS battery modules. This gives a capacity range of 4.0 kWh to 24.0 kWh per tower. For larger systems, you can connect up to 16 towers in parallel via the external BMU (Battery Management Unit), for a total capacity of 256 kWh.
