The BYD Battery-Box HVS+ 12.8kWh represents the pinnacle of high-voltage energy storage. Comprising five stacked HVS+ modules, this system delivers a usable capacity of 12.8 kWh and operates at a nominal voltage of 512V. Thanks to the patented internal plug connection, installation is completely wireless between modules, ensuring maximum safety and ease of assembly.

Technical Superiority & Performance

The HVS+ series stands out for its high discharge power and efficiency. With a continuous output current of 25A and a peak power of 55A (for 15 seconds), this system is perfectly suited for households with high energy demands or heat pumps. The system is backup-power capable (depending on the inverter), ensuring you remain powered even during grid outages. The HVS+ 12.8 is the most powerful configuration within a single tower of the HVS line.

Note: The HVS+ series is not compatible with older HVS modules in the same tower. Ensure you only combine HVS+ modules for correct operation.

What is included in the package?

The delivery of the BYD Battery-Box HVS+ 12.8 consists of multiple boxes:

  • 1x BCU & Base Package: Contains the Battery Control Unit (BCU), Base, Smart WiFi/LAN module, Wall Hangers (1 & 2), terminal resistor, and screw sets.
  • 5x Battery Module Package: 5 units of HVS+ battery modules including connectors.
  • Documentation: Quick Start Guide and certificates.
Which inverters are compatible?

The HVS+ series works seamlessly with leading hybrid inverters. We recommend the following brands from our range for optimal performance:

  • Solis: S6 Series (3-phase hybrid).
  • GoodWe: ET Series (15-30kW) and ET G2.
  • Other supported brands: Fronius (Symo/Primo Gen24 Plus), Kostal (Plenticore), Kaco.

Always consult the compatibility list for the latest firmware requirements.

Is the system expandable?

The HVS+ 12.8 cannot be expanded further within a single tower (maximum 5 modules per tower). However, you can increase capacity by connecting up to 3 identical towers in parallel. This allows for a total capacity of 38.4 kWh. Expansion is possible at any time, regardless of the State of Charge (SOC).

How safe is the installation and what certifications does it have?

Safety is at the core of BYD's design. The LFP chemistry is intrinsically safe and thermally stable. The system holds the following certifications:

  • Safety: IEC62619, VDE2510-50, CE, UKCA.
  • Transport: UN38.3.
  • Protection: IP55 (Protected against dust and water jets), suitable for outdoor installation (if sheltered from direct sun/rain).
Is this battery suitable for Time-of-Use / Dynamic Tariffs?

Yes, the BYD HVS+ 12.8 is ideal for dynamic energy contracts. With its high cycle life and fast response time, you can charge cheap grid electricity and discharge it during peak price hours.
