The BYD Battery-Box Premium LVS 4.0 is the core building block for the world's most versatile 48V energy storage system. This cobalt-free Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) module offers a capacity of 4.0 kWh and is specifically designed for maximum safety, longevity, and power. Thanks to compatibility with market-leading inverters such as Victron Energy, SMA, and Solis, the LVS is the standard for both grid-connected and off-grid applications.

Technical Flexibility & Low Voltage Performance

The LVS system stands out for its unprecedented modularity. You start with a single 4 kWh module and can expand this to up to 64 modules in parallel (256 kWh). The patented internal plug connection makes installation simple without internal wiring. With a continuous output current of 65A per module, this system delivers powerful performance for heavy loads.

Installation Note: A complete tower requires at least 1x LVS Module (45 kg) and 1x PDU/Base Unit (19 kg). Always lift these components with two people due to the weight. The PDU (Power Distribution Unit) is essential for control and must be ordered separately.

What is included in the module package?

The packaging of the LVS 4.0 Module contains:

  • 1x BYD LVS Battery Module (4.0 kWh).
  • 2x Connectors for stacking.
  • Documentation (Quick Start Guide).

Note: The PDU (Control Unit + Base) and external cables are supplied separately.

Which inverters are compatible with the LVS?

The LVS is a 48V (Low Voltage) system and works perfectly with:

  • Victron Energy: Quattro / MultiPlus (Ideal for Off-grid/ESS).
  • SMA: Sunny Island series.
  • Solis: Low Voltage hybrid inverters.
  • GoodWe: ES/EM/SBP series.

Always consult the compatibility list for firmware requirements.

How many modules can I stack?

Per tower (PDU), you can stack a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 6 modules (4.0 to 24.0 kWh). Additionally, you can connect up to 16 towers in parallel for a total system capacity of 256 kWh. Expansion is possible at any time, regardless of the age of existing modules.

Is this battery suitable for Time-of-Use / Dynamic Tariffs?

Yes. The BYD LVS 4.0 is highly suitable for dynamic tariffs (Time-of-Use). With robust LFP cells and high cycle life, you can charge cheap grid electricity and use it during peak hours. Combined with a compatible inverter (e.g., Solis or Victron), this helps minimize energy costs.
