BYD Battery-Box Premium Avalanche BMU (Battery Management Unit)

The BYD Battery-Box Premium Avalanche BMU (Battery Management Unit) is the intelligent control center of a BYD LVS battery tower. The BMU monitors and controls the entire charge and discharge process of the battery modules, communicates with the inverter and provides essential safety and balance to the system. The BMU is required for every LVS installation and ensures reliable and stable operation.

Unique features of the Premium Avalanche BMU:

Construction of a BYD LVS battery installation:

The BMU is necessary in combination with the BYD LVS PDU at each battery tower. A correct construction consists of:

• LVS battery modules: from 4.0 to 24.0 kWh per tower (max. 4 modules for parallel towers)
• BMU: Required per installation
• PDU: Required per battery tower
• Maximum configuration: up to 16 towers in parallel

The BMU connects the LVS system to the inverter via CAN/RS485, performing load management, fault detection and system monitoring. One BMU is sufficient for one complete installation, regardless of the number of towers.
