The BYD Battery-Box Premium Avalanche BMU (Battery Management Unit) acts as the intelligent nerve center of your BYD LVS battery system. What is the difference between the BMU and the PDU?
The BMU (this unit) is the "brain" and manages data and communication with the inverter. You only need one per complete system (up to 16 towers). The PDU (Power Distribution Unit) is the "base" containing the DC connections and fuses. You need one PDU for every battery tower you install.
Which inverters does this unit communicate with?
The BMU supports communication with leading 48V (Low Voltage) inverters. We recommend configurations with:
- Solis: Suitable 48V hybrid models.
- Victron Energy: MultiPlus and Quattro series.
- SolarEdge: Specific 48V interfaces.
