The BYD Battery-Box HVM+ 13.8 is an advanced high-voltage energy storage system with a usable capacity of 13.80 kWh. The system consists of five HVM+ LFP battery modules combined with a Battery Control Unit (BCU) and uses patented internal plug connections, enabling a completely cable-free assembly between modules. With a nominal voltage of 256 V and continuous output suitable for demanding applications, this system delivers superior efficiency compared to low-voltage alternatives.

What is included in the package?
The BYD HVM+ 13.8 system is delivered in modular packaging. The complete set includes:
  • 5× BYD HVM+ battery modules (2.76 kWh each)
  • 1× BYD BCU (Battery Control Unit) including Smart WiFi/LAN module
  • 1× Base (floor stand with adjustable feet)
  • 2× Wall mounting brackets (Hanger 1 & 2)

Which inverters are compatible with this system?
The BYD HVM+ series is designed for seamless integration with leading single-phase and three-phase hybrid inverters. For optimal communication and warranty compliance, we recommend:
  • Solis: S6-EH3P Series (High Voltage Hybrid)
  • GoodWe: ET Series (15–30 kW) and ET G2
  • Other brands: Fronius (Symo/Primo Gen24 Plus), Kostal (Plenticore), Kaco
Always consult the latest compatibility list for your specific inverter model.
Can the capacity be expanded later?
Yes, the modular design offers maximum flexibility:
  • Within one tower: Additional HVM+ modules can be added up to a maximum of 8 modules per tower (22.1 kWh).
  • Parallel operation: Up to 3 identical towers can be connected in parallel for a total capacity of 66.2 kWh.
Note: Mixing HVM+ and HVS+ modules within one tower is not technically possible.
How safe is the installation and technology?
The BYD Battery-Box HVM+ complies with the most stringent international safety standards:
  • Certifications: VDE2510-50, IEC62619, CE, UKCA and UN38.3 (transport)
  • IP55: Protected against dust and water jets, suitable for outdoor installation (when sheltered from direct sunlight and rain)
  • LFP Technology: Cobalt-free chemistry eliminates the risk of thermal runaway and ensures a long service life
Does this battery help reduce feed-in charges?
Absolutely. As net metering schemes are phased out and feed-in charges are introduced by energy suppliers, maximizing self-consumption becomes essential. With a large usable capacity of 13.80 kWh, you can store a significant portion of your daily solar production for use in the evening and at night. This minimizes electricity fed back into the grid, directly reducing feed-in penalties and grid import costs.
