The Solis-Eastron SDM630MCT V2 Bundle is a high-quality three-phase energy meter developed for larger Solis hybrid installations, supplied with 3× 300A CTSA035 current transformers. This configuration is specifically designed for hybrid inverters rated at 12 kW or higher. Featuring Class 0.5 measurement accuracy, it enables precise Zero-Feed-In control and optimised energy management within demanding residential and commercial grid connection points.

  • 300A power measurement: Includes three 300A split-core current transformers (CTSA035) for industrial and high-capacity residential grid connections.
  • Optimised for hybrid inverters rated at 12 kW or higher: Stable measurement at high charge and discharge currents for Solis hybrid inverters rated at 12 kW or higher.
  • MID B+D certified: Compliant with the MID directive and IEC 62053-21 for accurate energy measurement.
  • Modbus RTU protocol: Reliable RS485 communication for real-time monitoring and dynamic power management.

Strategic grid integration & high-power optimisation

Effective energy management in larger installations requires extreme precision at high currents. This bundle is designed for reliable measurements at high primary currents by pairing the Eastron meter with 300A sensors. This allows your Solis inverter installation to monitor energy distribution at the grid connection point in real-time. This is critical for advanced functions such as export limitation and peak-shaving in hybrid systems rated at 12 kW or more. The high CT ratio ensures measurement stability, which is essential for stable system operation and optimised energy management.

Important — CT clamps not suitable for standard residential distribution board: The included 300A split-core current transformers (CTSA035-300A) have a core opening of 35 mm. Due to their physical dimensions, these CT clamps are not suitable for installation in a standard residential distribution board. Installation requires sufficient space in a technical cabinet, meter cabinet or industrial distribution board. This bundle is intended exclusively for connections where the primary current exceeds 100A. Installation must be carried out exclusively by certified electrical installers.

Documentation Quick installation manual and wiring diagram
Are the 300A CT clamps suitable for a standard residential distribution board?

No. The included CTSA035-300A split-core current transformers have a core opening of 35 mm. Due to their physical dimensions, these CT clamps are not suitable for installation in a standard residential distribution board. Correct installation requires sufficient space in a technical cabinet, meter cabinet or industrial distribution board. This bundle is intended exclusively for connections where the primary current exceeds 100A — typically for hybrid inverters rated at 12 kW or higher, or for high-capacity commercial connections. Always consult a certified electrical installer for the appropriate installation environment.

Can I replace the 300A CT clamps with 100A CT clamps?

No. The SDM630MCT V2 only operates correctly when the correct CT ratio is configured in the meter. The primary current of the CT must match the actual maximum current at the connection point. Use only CT clamps suitable for the connected installation and configure the primary current in accordance with the installation manual. Using an incorrect CT ratio results in measurement errors and incorrect Zero-Feed-In control. For installations where a maximum primary current of 100A is sufficient, the SDM630MCT V2 bundle with 100A CT clamps is generally the correct choice. Always select a CT that matches the maximum current of the installation and configure the correct CT ratio according to the installation manual.

Is this meter compatible with hybrid inverter systems?

Yes. This system is optimised for Solis hybrid inverters rated at 12 kW or higher, such as the S6-EH3P series. The CTSA035-300A sensors ensure stable measurements at the high charge and discharge currents typical of these powerful storage systems. Please refer to the included compatibility list for a complete overview of supported inverter models and firmware versions.

How do I configure self-consumption with the SDM630MCT V2?

For optimised self-consumption, set the inverter to Self-Consumption mode. The meter transmits real-time grid consumption data to the inverter via Modbus RTU over RS485. The hybrid inverter then controls the battery storage to keep consumption behind the meter at exactly zero — also known as Zero-Feed-In or export limitation. Always verify the inverter firmware version and the Modbus address configuration of the meter before commissioning.

How does the SDM630MCT V2 support Time-of-Use optimisation?

As time-of-use energy pricing becomes more widespread across Europe, accurate real-time metering at the grid connection point is increasingly important. The SDM630MCT V2 provides precise consumption data to the inverter via Modbus RTU, enabling the hybrid inverter to charge the battery during low-tariff periods and discharge during peak-tariff periods. This maximises the financial benefit of dynamic energy contracts. Always verify compatibility with your inverter model and installed firmware version before commissioning.
