The Solis IntelliHome-5kWh-OD is a 5 kWh LiFePO4 low-voltage home battery for residential energy storage, developed by SolisStorage for use in combination with Solis low-voltage hybrid inverters. With an operating voltage range of 44.8–57.6V, a maximum discharge current of 100A, an integrated heating function for charging and discharging down to −20°C and an IP66 protection rating, this system is suitable for demanding indoor and outdoor installations. The system is expandable to a maximum of 8 units in parallel for a total storage capacity of 40 kWh.

- Integrated heating function: Enables charging and discharging at ambient temperatures from −20°C to 55°C — automatic activation at temperatures around and below 0°C, no external heating solution required. Above 45°C, automatic derating activates to protect the cells.
- Wide operating temperature range: Charging and discharging from −20°C to 55°C thanks to natural cooling and integrated thermal protection — recommended operating temperature 10°C to 45°C for optimal service life.
- Direct parallel connection: Up to 2 units in parallel without a combiner box — for more than 2 units a Solis combiner box is required for safe power distribution. Without a combiner box, the max. charge/discharge power is limited to 5 kW due to cable capacity.
- Solis integration: Seamless communication with Solis low-voltage hybrid inverters via CAN/RS485 — supports single-phase and three-phase configurations. Always verify the current compatibility list and firmware version before installation.
- Certified safety: Certified to IEC62619, IEC6381, UN38.3, VDE2510-50, EN/IEC61000-6-1/2/3/4, IEC60730-1 and IEC60529 (IP66) — compliant with European safety standards for residential energy storage.

Which Solis inverters are compatible with the IntelliHome-5kWh-OD?

Supported single-phase series include the S6-EH1P(3–6)K-L-EU, S6-EH1P(3–6)K-L-Smart, S6-EH1P(3–10)K-L-PLUS, S6-EH1P(9.9–18)K03-NV-YD-L and S5-EH1P. For three-phase applications, the S6-EH3P(8–18)K02-NV-YD-L and S6-EH3P(7–10)K02-LV-YD-L series are relevant. Additionally, the S6-EA1P(3.6–6)K-L, S6-EO1P(4–6)K-48 and S6-EO1P(4–5)K-48-EU are supported. Compatibility depends on the exact inverter model and firmware version. Can the IntelliHome-5kWh-OD be safely installed outdoors?
Yes. The IP66 protection rating means the system is fully protected against dust and powerful water jets and is certified for outdoor use (OD = Outdoor). The integrated heating function ensures reliable operation at winter temperatures down to −20°C. The system supports wall and floor mounting and operates at altitudes up to 4,000 m (derating above 2,000 m). It is recommended to install the unit away from direct sunlight and preferably under a canopy to prevent performance loss due to overheating — the recommended operating temperature is 10°C to 45°C. Installation must be carried out exclusively by certified electrical installers in accordance with the SolisStorage installation manual.
