The BYD Battery-Box Combiner Box Plus (CBH-70A) enables the parallel connection of two or three compatible BYD Battery-Box HV towers via a single DC cable pair to the inverter. The Combiner Box supports HVS, HVM, HVB, HVM+, HVS+ and HVE systems. Always verify the current, model-specific BYD Compatible Inverter List and ensure that all battery towers share the same model, identical module configuration and equal State of Charge (SOC) at commissioning.

The Solis and GoodWe system configurations below are confirmed for HVB, HVM+ and HVS+ in accordance with the BYD Compatible Inverter List V1.6. For HVS, HVM and HVE, consult the separate current BYD documentation for the relevant battery platform. The valid combination is determined by battery model, module configuration, number of towers, inverter model and firmware of both inverter and battery.

Which BYD Battery-Box models are compatible with the Combiner Box Plus?

The CBH-70A supports BYD Battery-Box HVS, HVM, HVB, HVM+, HVS+ and HVE. For HVB/HVM+/HVS+, the BYD Compatible Inverter List V1.6 applies. For HVS, HVM and HVE, consult the separate current BYD documentation. HVB, HVM+ and HVS+ must not be mixed with each other. All towers must have identical module configuration and equal SOC at commissioning.

What are the cable requirements for installing the CBH-70A?

In accordance with BYD Installation Manual section 5.3.2 — DC cables are not included and must be sourced by the installer:

  • Battery connection (B+ / B−): min. 10 mm² (8 AWG) — strip length 10 mm
  • Inverter connection (P+ / P−): min. 16 mm² (6 AWG) — strip length 10 mm
  • PE earth cable: min. 10 mm² (8 AWG)
  • Cable lugs: OT terminal M6 — crimp with hydraulic crimping tool YQK-70
  • Torque: M5 screws 4–5 N·m · M8 expansion bolts 9 N·m
What are the maintenance requirements for the Combiner Box Plus?

BYD recommends annual inspection in accordance with section 7 of the installation manual: check for abnormal heat development, unusual odours or physical damage; inspect terminals for oxidation or looseness; check IP65 sealing gaskets for ageing or damage. Always de-energise the system completely before carrying out any work.
