The Dyness Stack 280 BDU & Base is the central control unit of the modular STACK280 high-voltage battery system. The BDU (Battery Disconnect Unit) manages the connection between battery modules and the inverter, providing protection, communication and system balancing. The Base forms the stable foundation on which the battery modules are stacked. The system supports 3 to 15 battery modules in series per cluster, resulting in a system voltage of 134 to 876 V. Up to 12 clusters can be connected in parallel. Communication with the inverter is via CAN or RS485 (RJ45 connector).

Technical notes for installers

The BDU & Base is suitable for indoor use only (IP20). The BDU has dimensions of 770 × 425 × 230 mm and the Base 770 × 425 × 133 mm; the combined weight of BDU & Base is ±56 kg. A full column of 8 modules + BDU reaches a height of approximately 2208 mm; a minimum clearance of 450 mm above the system is required (floor to ceiling ≥ 2658 mm). More than 8 modules must be split across two columns. Grounding resistance must be ≤100 mΩ. Use the supplied CAN resistor (120 Ω) on the appropriate ports in parallel systems. Consult the compatibility list for the correct communication settings per inverter type.

Note: This package contains only the BDU & Base (control unit, Package A). Battery modules (Dyness Stack 280 HV Battery Module, Package B) are sold separately. A minimum of 3 battery modules is required for a functional system. Before purchasing, verify inverter compatibility using the provided compatibility list. Installation must be carried out by certified electricians in accordance with national standards.

The Dyness Stack 280 BDU communicates via CAN or RS485 (RJ45 connector, pin 1 = 485_B, pin 2 = 485_A, pin 4 = CANH, pin 5 = CANL) and is compatible with the following inverters, among others: Solis, Growatt, Sosen, Solinteg, Atess, Magarevo, GoodWe (GDW), Deye, SINENG, SINEXCEL and Megarevo. What are the installation requirements for the Dyness Stack 280 BDU & Base?

Installation must be carried out by certified electricians in accordance with national standards (e.g. BS 7671, IEC 60364). The system is suitable for indoor use only (IP20). The combined weight of BDU & Base is ±56 kg. A full column of 8 modules + BDU (height ±2208 mm) requires a minimum clearance of 450 mm above the system (floor to ceiling ≥ 2658 mm). More than 8 modules must be split across two columns. Grounding resistance ≤100 mΩ. Use the supplied CAN resistor (120 Ω) on the appropriate ports in parallel systems. If installing on an upper floor, a professional assessment of the floor's load-bearing capacity is required.
