The Solis S6-EH1P4.6K-L-PLUS is a single-phase hybrid inverter with a rated AC output of 4.6 kW, developed by Ginlong (Solis) Technologies for residential energy storage with 48V low-voltage batteries. The inverter features two independent MPPT inputs, each rated at a maximum input current of 16A, making it suitable for modern high-power solar modules. Maximum charge and discharge current is 105A at a power of 4.6 kW. In the event of a grid failure, the backup function switches to battery power in less than 10 ms.

  • Dual 16A MPPT inputs: Suitable for high-power modules, MPPT voltage range 90–435 V.
  • 105A charge/discharge current: Maximum charge and discharge power of 4.6 kW with 48V LV batteries.
  • Wi-Fi included as standard: Datalogger stick for direct monitoring via the SolisCloud app.
  • Backup switching time <10 ms: Critical loads remain powered during grid outages without noticeable interruption.
  • Generator support: Integrated control for external generators.
  • IP66 protection rating: Suitable for indoor and outdoor installation.

4.6 kW hybrid power management with 48V low-voltage battery architecture

The S6-EH1P4.6K-L-PLUS manages power flows between the PV array, 48V LV battery, grid connection and backup load group. Maximum usable PV input power is 7,360 W. In off-grid mode, the inverter supports a peak load of 9,200 VA for 10 seconds. Passive cooling without a fan contributes to a longer service life and quiet operation, which is relevant when installed in living spaces or technical rooms with limited ventilation.

The inverter supports communication with compatible batteries via CAN or RS485. Where the energy management system supports it, battery charging and discharging can be coordinated with consumption profiles, PV production and dynamic grid tariffs. Actual system performance depends on battery capacity, PV yield, consumption profile and system configuration.

Installation note: For correct operation of the backup function, critical loads must be connected to a dedicated backup circuit in the distribution board. Refer to the installation manual for the required AC wiring, fuse ratings and earthing instructions.

Which batteries are compatible with the Solis S6-EH1P4.6K-L-PLUS?

The inverter is designed for 48V low-voltage Li-ion batteries with CAN or RS485 communication. Based on manufacturer documentation, the following models are validated: Pylontech US2000C, US3000C and US5000, BYD LVS series and selected Dyness LV models. Always verify the exact battery model, inverter firmware version and the current Solis compatibility list before installation.

Does the backup function switch automatically during a grid outage?

Yes. During a grid outage, the S6-EH1P4.6K-L-PLUS automatically switches to battery power with a switching time of less than 10 ms. Only the loads connected to the dedicated backup circuit (Critical Loads) are supplied. This circuit must be correctly configured during installation in accordance with the installation manual.

Is the Solis S6-EH1P4.6K-L-PLUS suitable for Time-of-Use and dynamic energy tariffs?

Where the energy management system supports it, the battery can be controlled based on dynamic electricity prices, PV production and consumption profiles. This can help reduce grid import during peak tariff periods and increase self-consumption of solar energy. The actual benefit depends on the EMS configuration, battery capacity, PV yield and local tariff structure. Verify current firmware and EMS compatibility before commissioning.
