The Pylontech FH3X CT Clamp is the original Current Transformer engineered for the Force H3X hybrid inverter series. It enables precise grid measurement at the point of connection, allowing the system to accurately determine real-time energy flow between the property and the utility grid. This measurement foundation is essential for zero-export control, dynamic load management, and optimized self-consumption within a professional Pylontech storage architecture.

Grid Measurement as the Basis for Controlled Energy Management

The CT clamp transmits measured values directly to the H3X Energy Management System through the Multi-function terminal. Based on this input, the inverter regulates battery charging and discharging according to actual grid conditions. Correct installation orientation and pin assignment are mandatory to ensure accurate system interpretation and stable control behavior.

Note: CT clamps are included as standard in “Box 1” of the Force H3X Power Controller package. This product is intended for replacement or spare use only.

How do I wire the CT clamp to the H3X?

The CT clamp connects to the Multi-function Terminal of the H3X. The white conductor (S1) must be connected to Pin 4 (CT+), and the black conductor (S2) must be connected to Pin 5 (CT-).

What is the correct installation direction?

The arrow printed on the CT clamp must point toward the inverter. Incorrect orientation will result in inverted or inaccurate energy readings within the EMS.

Is this required if a Smart Meter is installed?

The H3X system supports either Smart Meter measurement or CT-based grid measurement. If no external Smart Meter is used and the system operates in a “CT-only” configuration, this clamp is required for proper grid detection.
