Solis AI for EU, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands: smart energy management with dynamic rates
Share
Discover Solis AI — the intelligent energy management system that automatically optimizes your solar power, battery storage, and grid interaction using real-time data and predictive intelligence — completely hands-free.
Relevant regions: EU, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.
What Is Solis AI?
Solis AI is Solis’s intelligent energy control system that continuously learns from your consumption patterns and weather forecasts. Using real-time measurement data and predictive models, the system automatically decides when to charge or discharge your battery and how to best use solar energy. This maximizes self-consumption and reduces electricity costs — especially under hourly or quarter-hour dynamic tariffs.
Four Immediate Benefits for Homeowners
- Lower energy bills — charge during low-price hours and align consumption with the market rate.
- Maximize self-consumption — rely less on the grid and use more of your own solar energy.
- Higher returns on export — sell power during peak prices and avoid expensive peak loads.
- Full automation — Solis AI learns your usage patterns and adapts to weather and price forecasts.
Note: For best results, a dynamic energy contract is required. Customers must obtain this from a suitable energy provider.
How to Activate Solis AI (Step-by-Step)
- Grant permission in SolisCloud when prompted.
- The Solis backend recognizes your inverter and automatically installs the AI firmware.
- After activation, the Smart Control module appears in the app, allowing you to monitor AI activity.
- Dynamic tariffs are automatically retrieved from your energy supplier.
In Smart Control, you can adjust charge/discharge times, power limits, and import/export restrictions.
Practical Benelux Setup: Inverter, Battery & Backup
Solis hybrid inverters feature an EPS/backup output that powers critical loads (e.g. refrigerator, router, lighting) during grid outages — within the inverter’s EPS capacity. For automatic grid disconnection and switching, we recommend the Marstek Smart Back-up Box (1-Phase) or Marstek Smart Back-up Box (3-Phase). These units operate fully autonomously and require no external inverter control.
Checklist & Components
- Solis hybrid inverter with SolisCloud access and AI firmware.
- Home battery – for example, the Pylontech series – to maximize savings with dynamic tariffs.
- Automatic backup: Marstek Smart Back-up Box 1-Phase or 3-Phase.
- Protection: proper breakers and RCDs compliant with AREI/NEN standards.
- Dynamic tariff from a supplier that provides hourly or quarter-hour prices to SolisCloud.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Solis AI only work with dynamic tariffs?
No, it also works with fixed-rate contracts, but the largest savings are achieved when prices vary hourly or per quarter-hour.
Do I need to plan manually?
No manual planning required. Solis AI automates all charging and discharging; you can fine-tune limits or preferences in Smart Control.
How fast does Solis AI learn my consumption?
The system requires only a short learning period, after which it continuously adapts to your usage patterns and weather data.
Which Solis inverters are compatible with Solis AI?
Solis AI is compatible with the hybrid inverter series S6-EH1P (single-phase) and S6-EH3P (three-phase). Make sure your inverter runs the latest AI firmware.
Are there additional costs for using Solis AI?
No, Solis AI is a standard feature on compatible inverters. Usage is included; customers only pay for their own dynamic energy contract with their supplier.
