Frequently Asked Questions about the Dyness Powerbox G3

What is the difference between the Dyness Powerbox G2 and G3?

Both have 10.24 kWh capacity, 200 A continuous current and IP65 protection. The G3 is 730 mm tall (G2: 640 mm), features the anti-corrosion class C5-M for coastal and marine environments and includes additional certifications (CE-RED, CEC, CEI 0-21). View the Powerbox G2 for a direct comparison.

Which inverters are compatible with the Dyness Powerbox G3?

The Dyness Powerbox G3 works with low-voltage hybrid inverters via CAN or RS485. Compatible brands include Solis, GoodWe, Victron Energy, SMA, Growatt, Deye, Luxpower, Solplanet, Ingeteam and APsystems. The DIP switch on the master battery determines the protocol; slave batteries do not need to be configured. For Solis and GoodWe, the factory default setting (DIP 0000) is retained. Check the current list on our battery & inverter compatibility page.

How do I safely install the Dyness Powerbox G3?

The Powerbox G3 can be mounted on the wall or on the floor. The wall must be solid concrete or brick, at least 100 mm thick, with a load-bearing capacity of at least 4× the device weight (96.5 kg). Maintain a minimum clearance of 150 mm on all sides (recommended: >500 mm). Use only the supplied 1AWG power cables (1500 mm) and an earthing cable of at least 6 mm². For more than 12 parallel units, add a CAN resistor to the CAN OUT port of the last battery. Installation must be carried out exclusively by certified personnel with at least two people. Thanks to IP65, the battery is suitable for indoor and sheltered outdoor installation.

Is the Dyness Powerbox G3 suitable for outdoor installation?

Yes. With IP65 protection, anti-corrosion class C5-M and integrated heating, the G3 can be installed outdoors and charge from -20°C. Choose a sheltered location away from direct sunlight; the operating temperature range is -20°C to 55°C.

Is the Dyness Powerbox G3 a worthwhile investment with Time-of-Use energy tariffs?

Often yes. With the growing adoption of dynamic and Time-of-Use energy tariffs, the value of home battery storage is increasing significantly: every kWh you consume yourself saves the difference between the purchase price and the feed-in tariff. With a home battery, you store solar energy generated during the day for use in the evening, roughly doubling self-consumption for an average household with solar panels. The exact savings depend on your consumption profile, the number of solar panels and the battery capacity. With ≥8,000 charge cycles, 10 years warranty and expandability up to 512 kWh, the G3 is also future-proof for expansion — ideal in combination with a dynamic energy tariff.

What is included in the Dyness Powerbox G3 package?

The G3 is supplied with wall and fixing bracket, red and black 1AWG power cables (1500 mm), two communication cables (RJ45, 2000 mm), a CAN resistor, screws, OT terminals, quick installation manual and warranty card. Please verify all items upon receipt; contact us if anything is missing.
